This whole wheat chocolate chip cookie recipe is a staple in my household because I am cookie obsessed. Now of course, just because they are whole wheat does not make them health food and doesn’t exempt them from being treats. That being said, I think any chance to make something a bit healthier than it otherwise would be is worth it!

My Best Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookies

Instructions & Directions

Preheat oven to 325 °F

Then spray two cookie sheets with olive oil spray, and set aside.

Sift together:

  • 2 cups no additive, whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 salt

then set aside, in a separate bowl mix together:

  • 3/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup of raw sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar

Then, beat:

  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract

Combine dry ingredients until mixed well, fold in 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips. Roll cookie dough into balls two inches in diameter. Place on cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes or until desired doneness. Yields approximately 15 cookies.
